HOPE

The photograph was taken in January 2019 during a trip to Villejuif, located just south of Paris, together with my mother, father, and younger brother. The purpose of the trip was to consult the world’s leading liver surgeon, with the hope of saving or prolonging my mother’s life. Later that same year, on May 22nd, her birthday, she underwent surgery in Villejuif performed by Professor René Adam, which extended her life by two years.
